Canary Islands (Spain) is an archipelago consisting of 13 islands. It is located to the south of the Pyrenees peninsula more than a thousand kilometers from the nearest point of Africa and it is separated by a little more than a hundred kilometers. The seven islands are quite large in size. Largest – Tenerife (2057 square kilometers). Most often, tour operators offer tours to Tenerife.
The archipelago consists of 16 large and many small islands with a total area of 7,8 thousand km and a population of over 4 thousand people. Islands belong to the Republic of Ecuador. They are also called turtle island (from the Spanish galapago – «turtle”) or Colon Archipelago (named after Columbus). The largest islands: Isabela, Fernandina, San Salvador, Santa Cruz and San Cristobal. Administrative center – city and port of Puerto Baquerizo Moreno.
The archipelago is almost not affected by tourism, few people have visited this poor country, but they entail the Solomon Islands genuine naturalness of everything that happen to see or visit. Here there is almost nothing artificial or specially created to cater to tourists. Those travelers who are looking for the extraordinary natural conditions, will not be disappointed by any portion of this small country – the islands have a deserved reputation as perhaps the best place in the world, as if nature itself intended for scuba, shnorkelinga and fishing. Tipping is not accepted, but in the case of good service, you can leave staff 5% of the total bill, or additional 1 – $ 2.
