History of Falkland islands


The history of Falkland Islands is fascinating, primarily because of its location. Stanley became a transit point for trade ships that headed for the east coast of America to the west. During the California gold rush of 1848, the number of vessels increased from 8 to 800, ship repair brought considerable profit, and the city flourished. In 1914 he built the Panama Canal, and many ships have changed their route. Since that time, the bulk of income economy Falkland Islands was the sale of licenses for fishing and agriculture.
